Chia is an annual herb seeds native of Mexico, that served as a staple food after maize and beans to the Aztecs and Maya peoples in pre-Columbian era. Grouped by four , the seeds are small, smooth, elongated, shiny, mottled of white and gray. By cold pressing of the seeds is obtained

Commercial cultivation of these seeds has grown in many tropical regions of South America, to the high content of alpha-linolenic acid (omega 3).

Composition, actifs :

Chia seeds are rich in polyphenols: flavonols, flavonol glycosides, chlorogenic acid and caffeic acid. They are also rich in protein, fiber and fat also contain high levels of omega 3 acid (21% of dry weight). Chia seeds are a good source of calcium and phosphorus as well as dietary fiber and manganese.
